Development manager Rockhopper Exploration Limited

Paul Culpin has over 44 years of oil and gas experience predominantly in offshore developments in UK, Norway, GOM, Brazil and Falkland Islands. He started career in 1975 with Esso Expro working on North Sea and Gulf of Mexico offshore projects. Later he joined Mobil North Sea in range of oil company discipline and operational assignments to the position OIM on Beryl Bravo.

Paul joined Enterprise Oil in 1989 initially seconded to Shell as Nelson Project Operations Manager from concept to first oil and platform handover, after first oil returning to Enterprise Oil as Production Manager. He furthered his secondment to Esso Norway as a Jotun FPSO Project Operations Manager from concept to first oil. He then moved to Enterprise Oil do Brasil as Designate Production Director on the Bijupira and Salema Campos Basin FPSO project from concept to first oil.

In 2004, Paul returned to the UK to form a management consultancy - Project Production Solutions Limited - working mainly for independent companies from formulating development plans for discoveries to delivering projects to completion and handover to the operator. He later joined Rockhopper Exploration in 2011 as a Development Manager for the North Falkland Basin Sea Lion discovery which has opened a new and exciting oil and gas province and is also responsible for managing the assets of Rockhopper Italia.
