Marcelo joined the Upstream Research team in March 2019, as Head of Latin America based in Rio de Janeiro. Marcelo is responsible for the teams in Buenos Aires, Mexico, and Rio de Janeiro that are providing analytical and research coverage for the entire region. Prior to joining Wood Mackenzie, Marcelo worked for Shell and BG for 17 years in Asia, Brazil, Caribbean, Russia, and West Africa, in a variety of finance, commercial, and petroleum economics roles that covered upstream (onshore, shelf, and deep water) and midstream assets. Marcelo graduated from Escola Politécnica in São Paulo, Brazil with a BSc in Chemical Engineering and holds his MBA from INSEAD in Fontainebleau, France.
