The global COVID-19 pandemic has undoubtedly created substantial risks for the FPSO industry, especially with respect to schedule, safety and quality and supply chain, presenting unprecedented project management hazards. COVID-19 complications caused schedule delays resulting from government mandated stay-at-home orders, slowed supply of materials across the globe, or default by subcontractors unable to sustain work in a downturn. Construction inherently includes uncontrollable variables based on market changes, but challenges such as COVID-19 exponentially increase failure risks. COVID-19 also highlights significant quality concerns, as project stakeholders suffer from labour shortages and supply chain disruptions. In such unprecedented times, technology advancements can serve as a means to help project owners navigate these challenges.

In this webinar, key discussion points include:

  • Evaluating all aspects of the FPSO construction process to avoid disputes when possible, manage risk and recover damages necessary to maintain profitable projects
  • Reviewing the traditional FPSO supply chain and exploring alternatives in times of crisis
  • Explore alternative technology and innovation that is necessary to maintain projects
