Woji Weli holds a degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Ibadan and earned an MBA in Strategic Planning & Project Management from Heriot Watt University, Edinburgh. He is also an Alumnus of IMD, Switzerland and London School of Economics (LSE) He is a Fellow of the Nigerian Society of Engineers, an associate of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators, London (ACIArb), a Registered Professional Engineer with the Council for Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria (COREN). He started his professional engineering career in the manufacturing industry with Alcan Aluminium and joined Shell in 1988 where he executed several onshore oil and gas projects.
During his career in Shell, he worked in Nigeria and overseas in various capacities as Field Engineer, Economist, Project Manager, Asset Manager. He retired as a Project Director after 30years in Shell.
He joined BW Offshore Nigeria in April 2019 as the Country General Manager. Since his assumption of office, he has been overseeing the operations of two BWO FPSOs in Nigeria. He has also been vigorously pursuing opportunities in Nigeria for BW Energy, an E&P subsidiary of BW Offshore
· Strategically selecting concepts during the early stages of FPSO projects
· Sharing of best practices for identifying and mitigating risks in the pre-FEED phase
· Examining effective strategies for engaging diverse stakeholders to ensure alignment and smooth project progression
